These boots are made of synthetic material. The laces go quite low down to the toe of the boot which can allow for a nice tight fit. The sole lugs are shallow, so I would only use these on a flat trail of uniform material that isn't loose. I found the boot to fight on the wider side, very flexible, and lightweight.
