Best compass

Best compass I ever had.. accurate readings and visible markings.. I like the fact it can be hanged in the neck hence not loosing it when traversing through tough terrain..

Beautiful responsive compass... however

I received the compass and immediately fell in love with it. The rugged case and extremely resposive (even at a tilt) global needle were incredible, I really enjoyed the clintometer function as well. ot since a couple other online reviews mentioned this issue. After reaching out to suunto directly they told me to submit a claim with altitude since it was a recent purchase. I mailed it back the other day and am awaiting a refund. I do plan on purchasing another, hoping that the markings on the next one are properly alligned. You do not get the nice brass declination screwdriver, but rather the thin silver couloured metal one that comes with suuntos other compasses. It seems that the needle is now balanced for all global zones as well (previous reviews stated. It did not work in the southern most zone according to the packaging). The packaging had a sticker over the map showing that it works in all zones. Read Less

An excellent compass.

It is what was advertised. Compact and sturdy and easy to throw in my pocket. I've used it on three winter hikes so far and can't wait to use it this spring on longer hikes outside of the province.

First impressions: needle settles quickly and is tolerant of some tilting which is handy on the trail. It is just heavy enough to feel awkward if you wear it, I keep it in a pocket instead.
