I researched packs for months and settled on the Osprey Manta for a few reasons. As a woman I should have got the Mira model, but it was unavailable. Figured this would be good too.as it gave me 2 extra litres of space.

system is great and very easy to set up and use. Carrying 2l of water around will make your pack heavy so be prepared for that.
-The AG harness system is why I chose this pack. Gets things off your back and redistributes the weight. Loved it, though the molded hip belt felt too snug-almost felt like the bag was actually a s/m instead of m/l as labelled. It did soften after a while and was doable.
- tons of space for everything I needed and lots of small compartments. Had no trouble fitting everything I needed for an overnight backcountry hike (including dog gear)
What disappointed me:
-there are no straps or loops on the bottom for carrying a sleeping bag. We used this for overnight camping so I had to jerry-rig some homemade straps to other loops on my bag (and waist straps) to carry my bag. Very inconvenient and not good planning. Why not just put 2 straps on the bottom?
- inner chamber was a bit fussy to access, especially with stuff in the other organizer pockets.
-zips and clips felt flimsy and hard to grab, with thin strapping even on the waist. For a $200+ pack I expected wider/more sturdy clips and zippers

Sac confortable à porter malgré une charge relativement importante, plusieurs pochettes pratiques, gourde d’eau incluse qui est un « must ». La couleur grise est très belle.

I bought this bag to use as my primary daypack. I love the tough construction, the many pockets and the amazing fit. It's the most comfortable pack I ever owned. The 36l size is perfect for a full day's worth of clothes and gear. It's also a perfect carry on size for airline travel. So far I love this pack.

Got this for my husband for a hiking day pack. He hasn't worn it on a hike yet, so we will have to wait and see if the AG design really makes a difference, but overall he loves the fit and design of the pack.

36-litre Manta AG.
The Osprey Manta AG™ 36-litre backpack was built for life on the trail. It’s constructed with an Anti-Gravity™ suspension system, which combines a 3mm LightWire™ peripheral frame, a mesh Airspeed backpanel, BioStretch™ shoulder harnesses and an AG™ hipbelt. This highly technical design helps evenly distributes load weight and improve ventilation so that carrying remains comfortable even on 12-hour hikes. It also features a 2.5-litre Hydraulics™ LT reservoir, which has a magnetic sternum strap bite-valve for quick access to fluids. Osprey completed the Manta AG with an integrated and removable raincover for protection in wet weather. Upper and lower compression straps stabilize loads' and provide some extra gear storage options.

Compartments | Features
The bulk of the Manta AG™ 36-litres of storage is in the panel accessed main compartment, along with a large zippered front-panel pocket that has mesh inner pockets for essentials. The pack-front has a shove-it pocket, and there are side stretch mesh pockets for water bottles. Another two zippered pockets for a phone and granola are located on the AG™ hipbelt. Additional features include a bike or climbing helmet attachment loop and Osprey’s Stow-on-the-Go™ trekking pole attachment system.
