I'm happy with this tent already but it's a bit of a confusing product:
- zips, fabric, clips, hooks all seem lightweight, which put me off at first until I remembered this is technically designed as a backpacking tent

ite well; it breathes and vents well and overnight condensation goes out the sides like it should.
- it's easy to forget it's a backpacking tent since it's fairly large set up (same total footprint as my 4 person); when we've been car camping we have a megamat which still has a nice amount of room on each side for shoes and gear; would fit three backpackers easy
- the 'wings' are only pegged in, not poled out, likely to save the weight of an extra pole; at one site there was just no way to get that peg out so I found a river rock for the corner of each wing to give it structure instead of a peg.
- the 'wings' are big enough for a travel bag laid flat or normal but slightly too small for a full-height backpacking bag, at least if you want to have the 'wings' by your head like I do; probably OK to have your backpacking bag upright, or put the wings at the foot of your mattress instead.
- mostly-mesh tent body is lovely

Overall:
- big space
- decent height
- excellent design
- quick and easy setup
- a few nice smaller features (headlamp pocket at top, pockets at side, nicely thick ground sheet)
- can't verify durability but Marmot's been lovely to me in the past for other gear and no big worries
- a little weird but usefully so!
- bag and few ties it comes with are crap, replaced that already with one from an old tent + some velcro strap
- if you want it darker inside, find the one with the green fly; they were out so we have the solar and it's pleasant but... very yellow

Marked down for the bag & because I think even for a backpacking tent some things could have been done to make the base of the tent feel slightly more durable? Read Less

Love marmot tents. Need to replace my 12 year old limelight 3p which received heavy usage. The new limelight is a solid tent. I enjoy the side wings for extra storage on the inside. However, I dislike the asymmetrical design of the fly . The section which unzips is too large and makes it awkward when opening the door.

Canoe camping tent

I chose this tent for the design of the rainfly, which positions the zipper off-centre and closer to the body of the tent. This makes it easier to access without leaning out of the tent door, which is difficult for anyone with back pain. The high profile of the 3P was a help in that regard too. I'm very happy with this tent.

It's not great in the drizzling rain , not eager to find out what a downpour would do. It's an ok tent for beginners camping for a sunny weekend, but I am disappointed over all and would not trust it to hold up in rougher conditions, wind and rain and such.

I am still waiting for altitude sports to advice me on what to do about the leak . The costumer service person was polite and we started the process promptly of determining what to do. Read Less
