Long term review -- DO NOT BUY for Winter, Snow or Ice

I reviewed this boot back when I got it in late 2022. Having had it now into early 2024, I want to update my review. I'm only giving this a 1 star to knock down the average from my previous 5 star review, and to highlight this issue, which I didn't see mentioned in previous reviews.

er seasons as it would be pretty warm in the summer.) Unfortunately, this shoe is a hazard in the winter. I was surprised to discover this, since the normal Blundstone sole is pretty good on ice and snow.

Alti's description is missing a key detail that Blundstone's page for the 2056 provides: a caveat that this sole is "not designed for extreme cold or icy conditions. Sole traction is reduced in conditions below freezing and may slip on icy surfaces." I would not have bought this boot if I had known this. Alti needs to modify the description.

Walking on any non-bare winter surface is highly dangerous, and I have slipped multiple times on surfaces that my walking partners have had no issues. If you live where it snows and gets cold (and I don't even wear the below -5C anyways), have a big dog like we do, and walk multiple times a day in all conditions or through parks and dog parks, this is not the boot for you. What a disappointment, because these are more expensive.

Also, a cosmetic note: my boots each have two very distinct crease marks over the forefoot area where the material folds as you walk. Read Less

not fan of the vibram all-terrain sole vs classic blundstone

The vibram all-terrain sole has a much softer and rubbery feel vs. the classic blundstone soles, which you'd think is better since it costs $40 more.

Love the rustic brown colour

I love my Blunstone, so I bought a pair for my son. He’s usually a size 9 US, which is a 8 Aus, however they were way too big, so I have to return them, and will reorder a smaller size. The rustic brown colour is perfect!

Somewhat disappointing for the price

All-Terrain #2056 in Rustic Brown features a unique Vibram® sole for grip on snow, mud and muck and quick release of those materials as you walk. The new tread design has a higher ratio of surface contact for increased stability and grip on uneven terrain.

Care
• First, remove any caked dirt on your boots with a soft bristled brush or damp cloth and leave your boots to air dry. Please ensure that your boots are away from direct sunlight or any heaters, as they will dry out the leather
• Apply leather polish, spray or cream to the leather to help maintain your boots. If you are using a polish for the first time, try it on an inconspicuous area of the boot to check whether it alters the colour or appearance
• If using a polish, apply a small amount of leather cleaner to a polishing cloth or brush and rub onto the shoe in circular motions
