Super comfy vest, not 100% sure about overall look

The vest does exactly what you'd expect for a liner plus vest combo. Style-wise it's not a gilet, and its length and chest opening matches the cut of jacket. This gives it a slightly long and loose look, so not the svelte form-fitting look and feel you might want fashion-wise.

ket gives enough additional warmth to be comfortable walking in -5 with moderate wind (even a bit warm if you have a scarf). I have not tried it colder yet but I suspect with hat and scarf you could comfortably take it to -15 with the outer layer coat.

Overall I'd say it does what I expected: it is a great purpose built layer for the jacket, that is a fine look for a hike or camping trip. I just wouldn't get it without the full jacket or expect to replace a gilet with it from an urban or style perspective. Read Less

Nice vest

I bought this to extend the use of my Bedale jacket. The vest is good heavy fleece quilted to a nylon shell. It looks good by itself. It provides the extra warmth to make the Bedale practical to about -10. I am deducting one star as it hangs about 2cm below the Bedale. I’m not too fussed by that but it’s not what I expected.

Perfect complement for a Barbour wax jacket

The liner easily zips into the jacket and lengthens the use of your jacket as the temperature drops. I have the Ashby jacket in L and I bought the liner in M and it fits perfectly. Now I just have to wait for the colder weather to try it out.
