In Canada, and anywhere it gets really cold, Canada Goose is known for warm parkas. Initially designed for arctic expeditions, Canada Goose adapted to growing demand from urbanites, and today you’ll see their jackets and the famous roundel from Bordeaux to Beijing, Detroit to Davos, and everywhere in between. Look & Style
At first glance, it’s the quilt-through, low-profile puffy padding that distinguishes the Shelburne from the Trillium. The Shelburne parka is more tailored than the Trillium, which has a straighter cut (but cinches at the waist if wanted).
The Shelburne also comes in a Fusion Fit, wide enough at the hips and slender at the chest—conceived by Canada Goose for women with a smaller frame.

On the details side of things, the Shelburne has rear snap flaps at the flanks, practical for more mobility and sitting down when needed.
Characteristics
The mid-thigh length and Arctic-Tech shell are similarities in both parkas. But pockets are difference-makers.
Fleece-lined handwarmer pockets in the Trillium are a welcome addition and close with a flap and a snap over it, with a cargo-pocket style look. The Shelburne’s handwarmer pockets close with snaps but without the flaps and are set further back near the side hem.
Knit rib storm cuffs on both keep cold air out. The hoods on both sport removable coyote-fur ruffs. You can remove the hood on the Trillium both the Shelburne hood is attached—although it is adjustable. through a drawcord.

Warmth and Insulation
Canada Goose came up with its own Thermal Experience Index, or TEI rating, to see how well each of their coats performs in different conditions. The Shelburne has a TEI 3 rating (-10°C / -20°C) and the Trillium holds a TEI rating of 4 (down to -25°C).
Both parkas are packed with 625 fill power down insulation—warm, lofty, and heat-trapping at its best.
Conclusion
Maybe you are leaning to the Trillium, with its TEI 4 rating, the flap handwarmer pockets, the removable hood and the Fusion Fit. Or you might be considering the Shelburne instead, with the mid-thigh cut, puffy style and back mobility flaps—and the Fusion Fit option. Both icons of the Canada Goose winter jackets world are great city-winter choices. And both are made in Canada. You really can’t go wrong. Consider your winters, your style and what details you’ll be using daily.
