The RockyMounts 8" Hitch Extension is designed for 2" hitches only, this extension gives you more clearance for your bike rack or trailer away from the vehicle. The insert tube is threaded, by bolting in the extension, you get rid of 80% of the play and rattle vs extensions that use a standard pin.
The RockyMounts 10008 Extension also includes a threaded hitch bolt, and lock to secure it onto your vehicles receiver. Allows BackStage, MonoRail & SplitRail racks to fold flat on Wrangler and other cars with spare tires. Works well with all bike racks including Thule® Yakima® & Kuat®.
As with all hitch extensions, they lower the weight rating by 50%, if you are unsure if this application will work for you please gives us a call to confirm you are within specifications before use.
