After contacting Arcteryx I was required to send in a copy of my receipt. I did that. Then they responded back with an email explaining that pilling is normal. I get that but as per my previous notes, it’s only one piece that’s doing this. Also, the pilling is really bad – like notice it from 10 feet away bad.

I noted that I didn’t accept this as being normal and the best they could come up with was a 40% discount off a purchase of the same item.

I was polite and reasonable thought the entire email discussion but I’m certainly done with that brand.

TNF lost their way years ago and comparing their items against the dead bird brand is funny to me.

Products like the Alpha SV are a benchmark others are judged by for a reason. My whole climbing kit including my harnesses are Arc.

I own the Alpha SV(100d,) Alpha AR pants(100d,) Proton LT, Fortrez, Psipon AR softshell pants, Alpha AR gloves, blah blah blah.

I do own a few TNF items but from an outerwear perspective as far as items I have to rely on to keep my 6 covered I will stick with Arc no question.
