Canada Goose is a premium brand when it comes to winter jackets. Their parkas, originally designed for arctic expeditions, are second to none when it comes to warmth. With so many to choose from, we thought we’d take a closer look at two of their most popular women’s jackets. Here’s a comparison of the Kensington Parka and Trillium Parka.

Fit & Style
At first glance, the Trillium (White) is more minimalist than the Kensington (Red). With its regular fit, the Trillium doesn’t have a lot of visible details other than the snap buttons that close the flap and the two pockets at the hips.
The Kensington features a slim fit, with openings at the bottom front and back. It has decorative snap buttons on the flap, pockets, sleeves and back opening. The sleeves are equipped with rib knit cuffs that keep the wind at bay. The Trillium’s cuffs are longer, but the Kensington has a snap adjustment at the wrists.
Features
The two parkas are longer and stop just above the knee. Their exterior pockets are all fleece-lined. The Kensington has two adjustable straps at the waist to give it a more feminine silhouette, while the Trillium has two cords inside to tighten the waist. If you’re shopping or taking the subway, you’ll appreciate the shoulder straps on the inside of the Kensington that let you wear it as a backpack.
The Kensington has a non-removable hood, unlike the Trillium. However, the fur is removable on both parkas and the hoods are insulated. A little extra on the Kensington, the hood is fleece-lined on the inside, making it all soft and cozy.
Warmth & Insulation
Canada Goose developed the Thermal Experience Index (TEI) to help you find the warmth you want for the experience you seek in each of their products. The Kensington has a rating of 3 (-10°C / -20°C) while the Trillium can stand up to slightly colder temperatures with a rating of 4 (-15°C / -25°C).
While the Trillium can stand up to colder temperatures, they’re both made using super-lightweight, 625-Fill White Duck Down insulation. This combines with an Arctic Tech outer shell that provides plenty of windproof protection against harsh Canadian winter winds.
Conclusion
Both styles are entirely made in Canada, and feature Canada Goose’s high-quality design and make. The Trillium has a regular fit, while the Kensington has a slim fit. Both jackets use 625-Fill White Duck Down insulation, but the Trillium is made for slightly colder weather with a TEI rating of 4, compared to the Kensington’s rating of 3.
