The assumption may be that the 8 is stronger because biggest is best but is it? The 7 will have more teeth engaged per unit length of zip so would that make it stronger?

Best mid layer out there for its breathability. I never once sweat through it even while being extremely active. Perfect mid layer for being active in cold conditions. However it will not serve you well if youre just hanging out on a porch in under 40 degrees F.
