Unfortunately, I believe the quality will go down because they’re moving more towards fashion and not highly technical gear. That’s the reason why this brand was so popular and kept their customers for decades because they never minced on quality. The price was always worth it. I fear that has come to an end but I hope I’m wrong. I just purchased the Atom LT in July of 2022. I still have my Atom LT from almost a decade ago, and I’ve noticed the quality is better from a decade ago. The interior lining, the stitching is so much better and so much more complex. The new one feels cheap and the stitching is raised meaning it will tear much sooner from its intended use which is highly technical stuff like skiing and climbing etc. Arc’teryx was not originally designed for your weekend warrior or model types. It was designed for highly technical athletes who beat the crap out of their stuff and needed stuff that was designed for highly technical use and abuse in harsh conditions. The fashion world is a whole different ball of wax.
Arc’teryx is a lot like the Star Wars product, Disney bought it for like 5 billion dollars and now they have to make their money back. So there’s a new Star wars product out every few days and the quality has understandably gotten weak. Is Arc’teryx on the same road? They were bought for billions by a corporate conglomerate whose bottom line is to make money. We’ll have to look for the next company that only focuses on quality and workmanship so we can trust it in the harshest of conditions, that’s why we pay that kind of money for it. Not because Drake wears it at a fashion show or on the sidelines of a basketball game. Hopefully I’m wrong. Time will tell.
