nice helmet

Oakley's size chart is wrong. Helmet is border line too small, just fits when the boa system is fully opened. if your head is 57cm or bigger buy a large.

Comfortable, concerning lack of durability

This is the third time I’ve purchased a Mod1 MIPS . And not for good reasons, I’ve had to replace due to sustaining some type of damage not crash related. The first one dented horribly from a minor strike on a tree branch while riding through trees, the second one cracked through shell and foam inexplicably on the back corner. always stored carefully. It would be nice to not have to replace my helmet every year. Oakley’s replacement deal where they offer 50% off a new helmet after damage is only useful if they have stock. Not ideal in the middle of the ski season. It leaves me doubting that this helmet could protect me sufficiently in an actual crash.

It is comfortable for all day wear and is the best fitting helmet I’ve had. It does fit well with Oakley goggles as well. I find unadjustable vents to be a bit inconvenient as the two front vents allow for way too much airflow in my line miner goggles causing my eyes to water constantly while riding.

Probably the last Mod1 I’ll buy, so hopefully this one lasts. Read Less
