Altitude Sports and Quartz Co. have once again joined forces to create the exclusive women’s Laurentia milkweed parka. This stylish parka is insulated with Canadian milkweed fibres, a locally grown plant that promotes the survival of the at-risk Monarch Butterfly by giving them a seasonal nesting place. Monark™ then cultivates the milkweed into a plant fibre that is extremely lightweight and makes for one of the most thermally efficient forms of winter parka insulation. This season, the Laurentia has a heavier 200g milkweed fibre fill and an updated longer-length of coverage, providing a warm and stylishly fitted silhouette on even the coldest winter evenings. It also has a weatherproof Cambridge polyester outer shell that has a polished appearance. The highly unique Laurentia is entirely made in Canada and is a collaboration piece challenging the way we think about parka design and winter fashion.

Detachable Hood | Longer Sleeves | Fish Tail

Quartz Co. supplied the Laurentia with a beautiful and fully detachable hood, which is insulated and features a Heritage adjustment with a pull-drawcord along its back. Its high collar helps seal in warmth when worn with-or-without the hood. The durable two-way front zipper is covered by a weather protective flap, which secures with circular buttons. Like the parka’s hem, this season's Laurentia has sleeve cuffs that are lengthened for improved warmth and coverage. The back-rear hem of the parka has a slight fishtail, improving its overall freedom of movement.
