The Kestrel 38-litre backpack is designed to haul heavy loads from the campgrounds of the Rockies to the mountains overlooking the St. Lawrence. It has Osprey’s innovative LightWire™ frame that transfers weight to its comfortable spacer mesh harness and hipbelt, ensuring all-day carrying comfort. The ventilating Airscape™ mesh backpanel helps this pack perform admirably in warm conditions. Along with numerous pockets, this backpack features a wide-mouth access sleeping bag compartment with a divider and external sleeping pad straps, making it overnight functional. It can also be cinched down with the StraightJacket™ side compression straps for day hikes where extra storage is required.

Compartments | Storage Features
The Kestrel 38 has a main compartment that can be top-loaded or accessed through a convenient side zipper. There are also top-lid and under-the-lid zip pockets, side and front stretch mesh pockets, and zippered hipbelt pockets. Dual front daisy chains and web attachments on the top lid serve as anchoring points, while adjustable and removable sleeping pad straps can haul extra gear. Osprey further equipped this pack with their s Stow-on-the-Go™ trekking pole attachments along with tuck-away ice tool loops. The entire Kestrel 38 can be shielded by deploying its integrated raincover.
