The Firoshiki shoes dont seem like they would be a good fit for me. There is nothing like the vibrum fivefinger. I do wish that they would allow more room for the toes, not length but width. I am 60 and I have been running since I was 18. I have completed several marathons, and running minimalist with the vibrums is like poetry in motion.. i wasn’t looking to change my style of running,, I literally fell into it. I couldn’t continue my run and had to walk it out. Something clicked and that was the beginning of my journey with vibrum.

The sole is quite form fitting as well, so a wide foot would overlap the sole and probably not be comfortable.

Hello Stacy, unfortunately, I don’t think these shoes would accommodate very wide feet too well. Although they are multi-sized, the velcro on the straps does limit how loose you can have them and I think they may feel too restricting for wider feet.

Would the wrap of the shoe allow for these people to wear the shoe comfortably?

These are designed to be minimalist shoes and will provide very minimal arch support. If you are someone looking for a supportive shoe, this most likely wouldn’t be the best option.

Hey Lois, while the shoes aren’t marketed as water shoes, they are marketed as more of an urban minimalist shoe, you can wear them in water if you like. You will want to make sure that they are dried out fully before wearing them again as to avoid acquiring mildewy smells. It’s also important to note that you don’t want to dry them in a dryer.

Hey Dave, it’s possible the FiveFingers you had may have been defective as destroying after three wears does seem odd. Did you contact FiveFingers about that? The Furoshiki shoes are definitely made of quality and designed for everyday wear. These are more of a casual, fashion model as opposed to the FiveFingers.
